Coffee is a very popular drink all over the world. Scientists have conducted various studies to determine if this drink is actually good for the health. Here are some reasons why you should or should not take coffee according to science:

It prevents Diabetes type 2

It has been proven that coffee is an essential element that helps to protect the body from developing diabetes type 2. According to a study done by the US Nurses Health, it was discovered that a person’s risk of having diabetes type 2 reduces when they drink coffee. When people drink coffee they are less likely to develop the formation of gallstones and kidney stones. Studies have shown that drinking more coffee reduces a person’s risk by over 25% than people who do not drink coffee at all.

It can cause Osteoporosis

Affects pregnancy in women

The weight of a child is affected when the mother takes coffee. The more coffee a pregnant woman consumes the higher the chance of her given birth to a child that is underweight. Most healthcare experts, advise women to avoid coffee or reduce their intake to about 200mg daily.

It affects sleep patterns

Also, people with a lower risk of hypertension are likely to develop an increase in their blood pressure.

Dehydration

Caffeine in coffee can cause a mild diuretic that is responsible for the amount of urine a person excretes. Frequent urination can lead to dehydration. The solution to this problem will be to drink more water to prevent dehydration.

It can cause Rheumatoid arthritis

Taking decaffeinated coffee increases the occurrence of rheumatoid arthritis according to recent studies. Researchers have proven that decaffeinated coffee increases arthritic response. Women are likely to get this diseases especially if they take a lot of coffee in a day.

The reason why coffee causes rheumatoid arthritis is unknown but what can be proven is that the chances of a person getting this type of arthritis disease are high if they consume a lot of coffee. Researchers believe that decaffeinated coffee has some ingredients that could be associated with the causes of rheumatoid arthritis. These ingredients are somehow removed when the coffee is filtered but the actual ingredient that is removed is yet to be discovered.
